OUR TEAM
Our team has many years of experience in the kiwifruit industry with more than 25 years devoted to the application of crop protection products within the industry.
Without a good team, we are nothing.

Owner/Operator
Neil has many years of experience in applying crop protection products (sprays) to horticultural crops and brings multiple skills and knowledge to the job. Sprayer calibration training is one important one.
Although starting work in the pastoral farming sector, he moved into the horticultural field in 1966 as a hop grower, then in 1974 moving into pip and stone-fruit orcharding with another change to the kiwifruit industry in 1979.
Neil has had many roles within the Kiwifruit industry, from development to hands-on managing and leasing multiple orchards, managing a packhouse/cool-store complex as well as a period working as a field rep for Fruitfed then ultimately running Z Contracting Ltd.
His knowledge of spraying and the products used has developed as the industry has evolved to where it is today.

Operator/Fixer Upper
Wray (yes, the spelling is correct), was also involved in the hop growing industry and later the pip and stone-fruit industry where he was involved in applying crop protection products. He had then moved on to other fields, saw milling, poultry farming, stock farming, etc, but developed many skills, such as truck driving, forklift driving, mechanical skills, metal fabricating, and welding which are all very useful now.
He joined the company as a sprayer operator in 1997 after a previous stint as a picking supervisor with us, and immediately showed that his past spraying skills and knowledge was still with him.

Operator – Sprayers and Mower
Alistair joined us full time in 2001 after doing occasional work for us as a mower operator, irrigation installer, and general helper.
He quickly became the company mowing, mulching (open aired tractors) and weed spraying expert, along with developing his skills as a sprayer operator, initially using the open-tractor/trailed-sprayer/hot-suited combination that we were still using at that time.
The tractor he now uses for the mulching and some of the mowing as well as spraying is also fully enclosed for operator safety and comfort.
